I Teach ~ I Vote

“If you choose not to do politics, politics will surely do you.”*

The editors of this site seek to compile important education politics and policies that impact Tennessee public school teachers and students.

Our legislators and Board of Education members repeatedly tell constituents that they “didn’t know” about problems with excessive testing, the flawed TEAM evaluation model, and the rush to implement Common Core.  In reality, parents, community members, teachers, and our Education Association have been telling them about the problems since 2011 and before.  We hope you find this site useful, as we work together to maintain the dream of public education for ALL students.

*The opening quote is a variation on a French proverb, which was often used by TEA UniServ, John White, noting the importance of teachers’ involvement in political processes.
